About ACTSESVA
The ACT State Emergency Service Volunteers Association (ACTSESVA) represents and supports the dedicated volunteers of the ACT State Emergency Service who serve the community during natural and human-caused emergencies across the Territory.
ACTSESVA provides volunteers with a collective voice, helping to advocate for their interests, support their wellbeing, and contribute to continuous improvements within the Service.
In simple terms, ACTSESVA supports volunteers so they can continue supporting the community.
Our Role
ACTSESVA plays an important role in representing the volunteers who work tirelessly to protect and assist the ACT community during emergencies. Through the Association, volunteers are able to share ideas, raise matters that affect them, and contribute to discussions about the future direction of the Service.
The Association also supports initiatives that strengthen volunteer wellbeing, recognition, and connection within the ACTSES community.
Objectives of the Association
The objectives of ACTSESVA are to:
- Represent Volunteers – Act as an independent representative body for volunteers of the ACT State Emergency Service.
- Advocate for Volunteers – Provide an effective voice for ACTSES volunteers in discussions and engagement with the ACT Government and other organisations.
- Promote Knowledge and Communication – Share information and promote collaboration among volunteers across State and Territory SES organisations and with the broader community.
- Support Volunteers and Their Families – Assist in the development and wellbeing of ACTSES volunteers and provide support to volunteers and their families.
- Strengthen Volunteer Morale – Promote initiatives that recognise and enhance the morale, resilience, and community spirit of ACTSES volunteers.
“Supporting ACTSES volunteers so they can continue supporting the ACT community when it matters most.”
