Wear Orange Wednesday (WOW Day) is a National Day of Recognition to say ‘thank you’ to all SES volunteers across Australia.

This year, WOW Day will be celebrated on Wednesday 20 May 2026.

On WOW Day we encourage communities across Australia to wear orange and thank all SES volunteers (Yes YOU!!) who generously give their time to help communities during floods, storms and emergencies.

In line with tradition, ACTSES and ACT SES VA invite you to our annual Trivia Event.

Please come along and enjoy this wonderful occasion with us, proudly sponsored by our wonderful friends at ACTSESVA.

There are also Lucky Door and a Best Dressed prizes to be won valued at over $2,000!!!

So dress up, get your brain into gear and come enjoy the evening. A light dinner (finger foods) and soft drinks will be supplied.

The ACT SES Volunteers Association (SESVA) is seeking Expressions of Interest from members to attend AFAC 2026 Conference and Exhibition , Australasia’s premier conference for emergency management and first responders.

This is a valuable professional development opportunity to gain insights, share knowledge, and represent ACT SES volunteers at a national level.

To celebrate and acknowledge the sacrifices made by our ACTSES volunteers and their families, ACT State Emergency Service Volunteers Association (ACTSESVA) warmly invite you to join them for a special ACTSES day out on Sunday the 19th April at the National Zoo and Aquarium!

This exclusive event is a massive thank you for the incredible commitment and service of our volunteers.

Enjoy a relaxed day exploring the zoo’s amazing exhibits, sharing great company, and savouring delicious catering provided by the team at Golden Roast spit roast company.

We hope you can join us for a fantastic day of connection, appreciation and fun! There will be a limit of 4 tickets per member, and numbers are limited, so get your tickets fast!

The ACT SES Volunteers Association warmly invites you to our 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) .

This year’s ACT SES Volunteers Association AGM will be held on Sunday, 9 November at the Ainslie Football Club from 14:00hrs

Event Program:

AGM: 14:00 - 15:00 - Catered (finger food).
Member feedback and Future Planning : 15:15 - 16:30
Post Event Dinner: From 17:00 - for those attending the Member Feedback session

We are looking forward to welcoming as many of you as possible—not just for the AGM, and the post Member Feedback Session, but also to relax, connect, share ideas, and enjoy time together as SES colleagues.

NOTE: Members will be asked to vote on the adoption of a new Constitution for our Association.
